Doctors successfully transplanted the heart of a baby born without a brain on Friday, prompting praise for the child's parents who decided to carry through the pregnancy while knowing of the condition. The infant Gabriele was born on January 14 with the congenital malformation known as anencephalia.
Code offence against Kamat
Strongly implementing the code of conduct for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Mumbai suburban district collectorate on Saturday registered an offence against Gurudas Kamat and A D Gurav for negligence of duty. Gurudas Kamat is the Congress (I) candidate from Mumbai north-east constituency and A D Gurav is a suspended Additional Assistant Returning Officer.
