Bare Necessities/ Lymaraina D'Souza

SA
This nineteen-year-old college student, who won the Miss India-Universe crown last week, believes that she won the contest due to her confidence. "I have confidence. I am not afraid of facing or answering a crowd, I like to talk," says Lymaraina. And without this confidence, Lymaraina does not believe that she would have won. Not that she was surprised that she had won as she says that she knew from the beginning she was going to win. It seems her confidence never fails her. But in life if there is one thing she cannot do without, it is food. So much so, that this glamour queen would like to follow a career in catering. "I do not want a film career," she says, standing apart from a herd that rushes toward Bollywood. Lymaraina is currently studying Commerce at Sydenham College and says she wants to a either be a caterer or a child psychologist. "I love food. I never diet -- not even when I was preparing for the contest," she says. Obviously, her passion does not show. Miss India's are made of leaner, notsterner, stuff these days.
