NEW DELHI, February 9: South Eastern Railway, North Eastern Railway and RDSO scored identical 2-1 victories over their respective opponents in the team events on the opening day of the 44th All India Railway Tennis Championships at the DTA courts here today. In another match, N F Railway defeated Railway Board 2-0.

Results: N F Railway bt Railway Board 2-0 (Ranjit Dutta bt V Sankar 6-2, 6-3; Manoj Chauhan w/o Kanwaljit Singh); RDSO bt CLW 2-1 (Vijay John bt K R Yadav 6-4, 6-3; S K Sharma lost to B Ram 2-6, 6-7; Vijay John and Rajeev Chaturvedi bt B Ram and K R Yadav 7-6, 6-3);

South Eastern Railway bt Eastern Railway 2-1 (Dilip Kumar lost to Sidharth Verma 0-6, 1-6; Ram Kumar bt Anwar Ali 6-0, 6-0; Dilip Kumar and Ram Kumar bt Raj Kumar and Sidharth Verma 6-3, 2-6, 6-4);

North Eastern railway bt South Central Railway 2-1 (Qurban Ali lost to Anil 1-6, 3-6; Anand Jit Lal bt Frentez 6-1, 6-2; Anand Jit Lal and Qurban Ali bt Anil Kumar and Manohar Babu 7-6, 6-2).
