Muslims move away from fatwa politics
Even as the Shahi Imam Syed Abdullah Bhukhari reportedly plans to issue a fatwa on Friday to announce the names of candidates the Muslims should vote for, a large number of Muslims in the Walled City feel that fatwa politics should end and they should be able to vote for candidates of their choice.
US will not use Saudi bases for any Iraq attack: Cohen
United States Defence Secretary William Cohen, visiting Jeddah on the first leg of a Gulf tour, said that he would not ask Saudi Arabia for permission to launch attacks on Iraq from Saudi soil. The tour is aimed at mobilising support for a possible military strike against Iraq.
