Nine killed by Tripura militants

AGARTALA, March 20: Five tribals, including a CPM activist, were killed and bullet riddled bodies of four more abducted persons were recovered on Thursday taking the toll in militant attack to nine, official sources said.

The ultras, however, released a hostage non-tribal trader on Thursday.Four tribal villagers were killed by suspected All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) militants in the disturbed Sidhai areas of West Tripura district last night.

According to the police, armed militants of the ATTF, which gave a poll boycott call during the recently held elections, stormed into a remote hamlet under Sidhai police station areas.

They first dragged the tribal villagers and then gunned them down.
