  Mayor-in-Council formed in Nagpur city
The long awaited Mayor-in-Council came into existence in the city of Nagpur, on Thursday, with Mayor Devendra Phadnavis naming five members to the Council. He named former Deputy Mayor Krishna Khopde, newcomers Dattu Thete and Sumitra Jadhav (both BJP), Anil Dhawade (Samta-Lokmanch) and Ramesh Singare (Ind) as Council members.
  Oppn target BJP's RSS connection
That the ``role'' of the RSS in the current government will be under scrutiny in the days to come was evident yesterday. If there was one refrain in most of the Opposition speeches on Saturday, it was the ``relationship'' between the RSS and the BJP.

CM's kin named in land scam
Congress corporator Sanjay Balgude caused a sensation at the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) yesterday when he alleged that a close relative of Chief Minister Manohar Joshi was involved in the dereservation of a prime plot at Erandwane for commercial exploitation. Balgude said that construction work had already commenced at Erandwane final plot no 110, reserved for a ``primary school'' in the city development plan of 1987.
Kopar land best for airport, says Joshi
Chief Minister Manohar Joshi yesterday conducted an aerial survey of the proposed airport land at Kopar, near Panvel and later told newsmen that the 500 hectare land was best for an international airport.
