Parekh may be BSE chiefMUMBAI: Jasvantlal C Parekh, a senior member of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), is expected to take over as the president of the exchange. Parekh, who is currently the BSE vice president, will step into the shoes of M G Damani, whose term came to an end on Tuesday. According to BSE sources, while several names were doing the rounds in the market the board finally decided in favour of Parekh.
The BSE's newly constituted governing board will meet on Wednesday afternoon to formally induct the president and also appoint the other office bearers. Parekh is distinctly identified as a non-controversial individual both as a broker and a member of the governing board. He has played an active role in over 14 committees of the exchange working diligently for the cause of the exchange and investors. The low-profile Parekh, who worked closely with Damani, is also one of the oldest members of the governing board.
Godrej ties up with ConservAIR
MUMBAI: Godrej & Boyce MfgCompany, the multi-product manufacturer of office equipment, locks, manual typewriters and office automation M/c tools has taken up sole dealership in India to sell and serivce ConservAIR products namely intermediate controllers, boosters, dryers and control masters. This agreement was signed by Sri Chari, Partner, ConserveAIR and J N Godrej, managing director, Godrej & Boyce.
Uke takes charge as NAIC secretary
MUMBAI: Ujjwal Uke, IAS, managing director of the Maharashtra Agro-Industries Development Corporation Ltd has been elected as secretary of the National Association of Agro Industries Coporations, Delhi, a central coordinating body of state agro industries for a period of one year beginning from March 21, 1998.
