MARCH 31: Noted singer Ila Arun's performance in Mumbai, slated for April, will be special not just because it's the first time she's performing live here. After her sister's demise from cancer, Arun had performed for the Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) in Pune six years ago. She had then promised that her first live performance in Mumbai would be in aid of CPAA. In keeping with this, Arun and her troupe of 200 artists will present "Sandstorm-Ila Arun live" at the SNDT college grounds on April 11.
"Sandstorm is significant because I want to help those who are fighting the raging storm of cancer within themselves," said Arun. Tickets are available at the Rhythm House.
Proceeds of the show will go to CPAA, which plans to set up two "Total Management Centres" to provide free diagnosis and counselling to patients and family members.
