Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin and Broadway actress Rachel Miner have announced that they plan to marry. Both are 17. In a joint statement issued by their publicist on Monday, the couple said they were "thrilled to have found each other."
  CNN's Pratap gets Chameli Devi award
The 1997 Chameli Devi Jain Award was awarded to Anita Pratap, South Asia Bureau chief of CNN, for her outstanding contribution to media at a function at the India International Centre Auditorium in New Delhi on Monday evening. The award, instituted by the Media foundation, is given every year to a distinguished media person.

Ila Arun to go "live" for cancer patients
Noted singer Ila Arun's performance in Mumbai, slated for April, will be special not just because it's the first time she's performing live here. Proceeds of the show will go to CPAA, which plans to set up two "Total Management Centres" to provide free diagnosis and counselling to patients and family members.

Moopanar is a friend: Sonia
Congress President Sonia Gandhi yesterday took two significant steps towards rebuilding the party: First of all, she practically invited Tamil Maanila Congress chief G K Moopanar and his colleagues to rejoin the Congress. She then attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Government for its "duplicity" -- her first such criticism -- thus giving some shape to the party's political line.
TNCC invites TMC to merge
The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) has reiterated its call for reunification of the break-away Tamil Maanila Congress with the TNCC. The TMC asserted that such a move would be relevant and necessary in the light of political compulsions.
