NEW DELHI, April 5: Major parts of the Bofors gun deal pay-offs, which were transferred from Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi's Swiss Bank account to the Channel Islands, were further transferred to two bank accounts in Vienna and Geneva, official sources said today.

The sources said this was established by the two-member CBI team which returned recently from Guernsey in Channel Islands as part of the agency's probe to track down the end beneficiaries of the kickbacks. About 9.25 million dollars were transferred from Quattrocchi's Swiss Bank account in May 1990 to the account of a suspected front company "International Investment Development Corporation Limited" in Guernsey, the sources said.

Within ten days of this deposit, the amount was transferred from there to bank accounts in Vienna and Geneva, sources said. The CBI was now in the process of finalising fresh letters rogatory to Austria and Switzerland to pursue the trail to reach the final beneficiaries. The agency was also pursuinginvestigation into the alleged kickback money transferred from the Swiss Bank account belonging to Win Chaddha.
