Charak regrets ad

April 10: The Charak Healthcare Private Limited has apologised to the Mehangai Pratikar Sanyukt Mahila Samiti for an advertisement for its product Charak Gulkhand. The ad had used a 20-year-old photograph of women activists participating in an anti-price rise morcha. The morcha's garibi hatao slogan was altered to garmi hatao by the advertising agency, Bates Clarion, Mumbai, to emphasise Gulkhand's cooling effect.Copyright © 1998 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
