MUMBAI, April 13: The Bipin Memorial Football Association (BMFA) has received a major sponsorship boost.The newly-formed professional club, Bengal Mumbai Football Club (BMFC) along with Indian Oil will sponsor BMFA free coaching camps for the next three years.
This was announced by K Sen, BMFC managing director at the opening of the Association's camp for boys and girls on Saturday at the Karnataka Sporting Association Ground at Churchgate.
Digambar Khandarkar, chairman, works committee, Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation, opened the 12th edition of the camp where 20 coaches will train 250 children at six centres all over Mumbai.
The centres are: Karnataka Sports Association, St Xavier's Ground, Parel, Indian Airlines Ground, Kalina, Hansraj Morarji Public School, Andheri West, Miti Chowk Ground, Orlem (Malad) and Borsapada Ground, near Poisar Bus Depot, Borivali (West).
Olympian SS Narayan along with internationals Dereyk de Sousa, Arthur Pereira, Bernard Pereira, Francis Fernandes and KBalakrishna are some of the coaches set to train aspiring soccer stars at the camps.
Besides supporting Bipin's activities for the the next three years, the BMFC plan to adopt two BMFA trainees every year.
