Fresh probe into cops' presence inside House

Gaurav C Sawant
NEW DELHI, April 16: The Lok Sabha secretariat has called for a fresh probe into the presence of police Inspectors in the visitors' gallery of the Parliament when Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee was seeking vote of confidence recently.

Joint Secretary, Parliament House, SK Kain, said yesterday that the preliminary inquiry by a deputy director of Lok Sabha secretariat had not been conclusive. ``Therefore, I had asked the Delhi Police to conduct an independent investigation,'' Kain told The Indian Express. Sources say the three policemen were watching the movements of a certain MP and had made a plan to whisk him away the moment he left Lok Sabha premises.
