The eighth D B Prabhu Memorial basketball tournamment for sub-junior (under-13) and youth (under-16) will be played from April 17-21 and from April 22-26 respectively.Thirteen boys' and six girls' teams are participating in the sub-junior event while the junior event will have 11 boys' and six girls' teams.In addition to teams from Mumbai and Thane, teams from Pune, Satara and Nashik are also participating in the tournament.
State inter-district basketball
The Maharashtra State inter-district basketball championship for 13-year-old boys and girls (born on or after January 1, 1985) will be organised at Father Agnel Sports Complex, Sector 9, Vashi, Navi Mumbai from May 2-4.The participating districts should report at the venue on May 1.
Maharashtra State boys and girls teams will be selected at the conclusion of these championships and these teams will participate in the 25th Sub-junior National basketball championships to be held in Pondicherry from May 14-18.
Roller skatingtournament

Centenary Trophy regatta
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) instituted Centenary Trophy regatta for Sea Cadet Corps will be held on April 19.This year's regatta will be held in the Arabian Sea off the training ship Jawahar. The programme includes racing in international cadet and optimist sailing dinghies and pulling and sculling by 250 boys and girls of the Sea Cadet Corps.
Cricket coaching at Shivaji Park
Surendra Babarekar will hold a cricket coaching camp between 6.30 and 9 a.m. and between 3.30-6 p.m. everyday at Bharat Cricket Club grounds at Shivaji Park.
MSTTA go ahead to city body
Maharashtra State Table Tennis Association has given the Mumbai CityDistrict Table Tennis Association full recognition and the responsibility to look after the sport's activities in the city, according to a press release received here today.Their jurisdiction has been divided into: Central -- Colaba to Sion; Western -- Cuff Parade to Mahim.According to the release, all participating under this banner will be eligible for selection to the Maharashtra state team.
