  After Ghauri, Pak developing a more powerful missile: Qadeer
Pakistan is ready to carry out a nuclear explosion any time and is in the process of developing another surface-to-surface missile `Ghaznavi' which is more powerful than Ghauri, with a range of 2000 kms, the country's top nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan has said. Dr Khan, who heads the Kahuta research laboratory, said Pakistan was also in a position to launch an indigenous satellite "within no time".

Indian Army leadership top-notch: US Army Chief
United States Army Chief of Staff General Dennis J Reimer, who visited Leh and the headquarters of the Northern Command at Udhampur yesterday, described the Indian military leadership as "top notch". The General said he was pleased to visit the "most active command in the world anywhere".

"Faster than Train, Easier than Plane" is the punch line for the Shatabdi Plus, the much-touted train of the future to be started by the Indian Railways. The train is expected to be on the rails by June this year. It will be equipped with facilities like a satellite phone, Fax, TVs and head phones on every seat, plush velvet upholstery, five star catering, beverages on the house and smartly dressed attendants to help passengers.

Filipino Govt to get Marcos money
The Swiss Supreme Court has cleared the way for the transfer to Manila of more than half a billion dollars in Swiss bank accounts belonging to the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos. Magtanggol Gunigundo, chairman of the Presidential Commission on Good Government, said the court ruled last week that the Philippine government gave sufficient guarantees it will comply with conditions set by the court in moving the money to an Escrow account in the Philippines.
Irish peace deal: People say yes, politicians say no
An overwhelming number of people in Northern Ireland support the peace agreement signed by the British and Irish governments and the political parties of Northern Ireland. The first opinion poll conducted across Northern Ireland found that some 73% of voters in Ulster said they would vote `Yes' in a referendum to be held next month on the peace deal signed last Saturday.
