Patel to protest TN move on Cauvery project

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
BANGALORE, April 18: Karnataka Chief Minister J H Patel today said he would write a protest letter to the Prime Minister against Tamil Nadu for directly writing to Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund, Japan, urging them against funding the fourth stage of Cauvery drinking water scheme which envisaged augmenting water supply to the city.

Expressing dismay over the neighbouring state's move to stall the project, Patel said Tamil Nadu should have reciprocated Karnataka's gestures which had agreed to surrender its share of five TMC feet of water from Krishna river to provide drinking water to Chennai.
