Cryoprecipitate made available at affordable rate
CHENNAI, April 17: Jeevan, a voluntary blood bank in the city, has made available Cryoprecipitate, a blood component which is essential to haemophiliacs throughout their lives. Haemophiliacs now depend on imported `Factor-8', containing the precipitate, which costs Rs 3,000 per 250 units. In contrast, Jeevan will charge only Rs 250 as processing fee per bag of the precipitate which contains a minium of 80 units of Factor-8.Copyright © 1998 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
