Contempt plea filed against RSS chief

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NAGPUR, April 24: M D Kamdar, an activist-turned-critic of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, has filed a contempt petition in the High Court Bench here against RSS chief Rajendra Singh, alleging that the latter falsely represented himself as Sara-karyavaha (General Secretary) in a court proceeding even after he became the Sarsanghchalak in March 1994.

Releasing a copy of his contempt petition at a press conference here on Thursday morning, Kamdar said the RSS chief filed an affidavit on October 3, 1997, in the HC claiming that he was RSS's general secretary and was thus entitled to represent it in the court proceedings.

He said he had initiated proceedings before the court of Deputy Charity Commissioner at Nagpur as early as 1972 for registration of the RSS as a public trust under the Bombay Trust Act.
