CAPE TOWN, April 24: Allrounder Brian McMillan won a surprise recall in the South African cricket team announced here today to play a five Test series in England this year.McMillan, 34, was dropped after disappointing tours of Pakistan and Australia this season and his international career seemed at an end.
"Mac had a rough season but is a good player and South Africa still have a vulnerability factor in our batting," convenor of selectors Peter Pollock said.
"He has good record in England and we have picked him mainly as a batsman and a slip fielder."
The squad includes one uncapped player in Eastern Province fast bowler Mornantau Hayward. Six fast bowlers were chosen including the black bowler from Border Makhaya Ntini and the mixed-race swing bowler Roger Telemachus from Boland.
The team will leave South Africa on May 9 and start the tour with a three-day match against Worcestershire in Worcester on May 14.
