Nurse commits suicide
A 22-year-old nurse reportedly committed suicide on Wednesday night in her room after being humiliated by a patient in the nursing home where she worked. The police said that nurse Rajni had gone to attend to a patient, Hori Lal, who had been admitted in the nursing home -- Kartic Clinic in Janakpuri. Around 10.30 p.m., when she went feed him, he reportedly refused to accept the meal and lost his temper. After the incident, Rajni left for her home in Raghu Nagar in Dabri which she shares with some other nurses who work in other hospitals. When she reached home, she was alone. The police believe she committed suicide out of depression.

50-year-old found dead
A 50-year-old woman was found dead in her Jwala Nagar house in Vivek Vihar area on Thursday. She had reportedly hanged herself to death. The woman -- Veet Kaur, wife of a railway employee, was found by her son Lalit Rana in a ground floor room around 5 p.m. The police said that she was unhappy over her son's marriage. Lalit had married a woman and the parents had been opposed to the marriage. Lalit, initially, lived apart from the family. Later, he and his wife moved in with his parents. The police said that no suicide note had been found.

Miscreants flee with Rs 2 lakh
Two persons allegedly snatched a bag containing over Rs 2 lakh from a youth in Najafgarh in South West district on Friday morning. The youth -- Om Prakash, 25, works in a shop selling grain in the Najafgarh area. He had gone to the State Bank of Mysore branch in the same area to withdraw a sum of Rs 2 lakh. He was returning to the shop with the money at around 11.20 a.m., when two men in a white Maruti approached him, snatched the bag with the money and escaped. The police say that the car was later found to be stolen. The police have launched a manhunt to nab the culprit.

Woman dies of burns
Saran Akhtar, 22, a resident of Deoli village succumbed to her injuries, caused by burns, in Safdarjung Hospital early on Friday morning. She had been admitted with 100 per cent burns. She had been cooking at a stove when her clothes caught fire. The deceased is deaf and dumb and was married two-and-a-half years ago. The SDM, Ambedkar Nagar is conducting an inquiry.

18-yr-old raped
An 18-year-old woman was reportedly raped on Thursday afternoon in a jhuggi cluster in Vasant Kunj. Her husband runs a white-washing business in the area. One of his colleagues, 21-year-old Mohammad Zakir, went with him to his house. Zakir allegedly raped the woman while her husband went out for ten minutes to attend to some work. A police team arrested Zakir from his house in Masudpur after the woman told her husband about the incident. According to the police, Zakir and the woman's husband are from the same village and hence knew each other well.
