Sahara top TYCA league

NEW DELHI, April 24: After successfully completing its league phase (105 matches amongst 35 teams in two months), Trans Yamuna Cricket Association (TYCA), which came into being only 13 months ago, commences its super league from tomorrow for the 10 teams that have qualified.

Ambassador Sky Chef, Jupiter Cricket Club (Pool A), SP XI, Young Cricketers (Pool B), Malviya, Delhi Blues (Pool C), MCD, Philips India (Pool D) and Sahara Airlines and Delhi Police (Pool E) are the 10 teams that have qualified for the super league. Sahara Airlines won all their matches and finished with the maximum of 48 points.

TYCA is planning to start a coaching camp for under-12 cricketers residing in Trans-Yamuna areas. Former Test star Yashpal Sharma has agreed to render his services for training youngsters.

Pradeep excels
Eleven-year-old leg-spinner Pradeep Mann (4 for 15) helped Sarvodaya Vidyalaya beat Bal Bhawan (Mandi) by nine wickets in the Bal Bhawan Challenge Trophy.

Bal Bhawan: 95 in 17.2 overs (Ajay 24, Pradeep Mann 4 for 15, Daljeet 2 for 14).
Sarvodaya: 96 for 1 (radeep Mann 25 not out, Daljeet 24 not out, Bankime 21).
