Sena, Cong workers clash

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NAGPUR, May 2: At least 48 rioters were arrested following a clash between members of rival political outfits - one of them led by the village sarpanch - at Bori, about 28 km from here late Thursday night. They were released on bail by a first class judicial magistrate here on Friday.

Two persons sustained "minor" injuries as the rioters indulged in stone pelting after their meeting, to resolve a dispute, came to an abrupt end. Police said, the Shiv Sena group, led by village sarpanch Kishore Wankhede, had organised an orchestra at Bori on the evening of April 28. While the programme was on, two youths - Naru Gautam and Devendra Anand Kote - quarreled over a seat in the audience.

Around 2.30 pm the following day, Gautam and his associates, numbering around eight, assaulted Kote and his friend Damu Timaji Sahare. The Bori police had registered an offence against the assailants in this connection.
