VADODARA, May 4: Captivating devotional songs by the artistes of Kala Gurjari at the dayaro function enthralled the audience here at Akota stadium on Sunday night. The function was held to mark the 39th foundation day of the state.Mayor Ratilal Desai inaugurated the function and exhorted the gathering to promote Gujarati folk art. He said that people's support would help the artistes refine their art.
The Dayaro singers' group was led by Samarathdan Gadhavi and included Kanakdan Gadhavi, Jayesh Vayede, Bharati Prajapati, Nilambar Ratnotar, Parimal Ratnotar, Ravindra Joshi, Kirtidan Gadhavi, Asha Tripathi, Babu Rana and Govind Solanki. Various leaders of the VMC including Deputy Mayor Ram Manohar Tiwari were also present for the occasion.
