Mahabaleshwar Anglican church restored

MAHABALESHWAR, May 27: The prestigious Anglican Church, which was literally reduced to a furniture workshop, until last year, with its sanctity and pristine glory having been flung out of the window, stood mutely with pride and honour on May 23, this year, as the Governor of Maharashtra, Dr P C Alexander and his wife, Ackamma, became the first celebrities, to attend a service here.The refurbished church which was otherwise deserted by the Christian community for 15 years, was resurrected from its dilapidated condition by the Christian residents of Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani. Led by Rev S Daniel Raj, the Presbyster of St Peter's Church, Panchgani, April 16, last year witnessed the first service that was conducted, after a decade and a half.
