JERUSALEM, May 27: Israel radio reported today that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had held talks with Palestinian legislative council speaker Ahmed Korei on the handover of more West Bank land to the Palestinians. The radio said Korei denied the meeting had taken place but said it was standing by its report. Palestinian and Israeli officials could not immediately be reached for comment.
The report, attributed to Palestinian sources, said Netanyahu met Korei - also known as Abu Alaa - before the Israeli premier left for China on Monday where he is now on an official visit.
Korei, however, denied that he held talks with Netanyahu, saying, "this is completely untrue".
"There was no such meeting with Netanyahu. These are all fabrications," he told Reuters.
