Woman ends life
One Induben Jaisukhbhai Gabrubhai, a 27-year-old resident of Ghanshyamnagar area of Varachha, consumed poison on Wednesday morning and died before being admitted to the New Civil Hospital of the city, the Varachha police said. According to police investigation, Induben was frustrated over not being able to bear a child and took the extreme step. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CRPC and are investigating.

Vehicles stolen
A tempo (GQC 5570) parked near the Ganesh Market on the Ring Road of the city was stolen by unidentified people on Tuesday night, the police said. According to the complainant, Ramkrishna Pande, a resident of Shrijinagar Society, the vehicle was loaded with bundles of sarees.

In another vehicle theft, a Hero Honda motorcycle (GJ 5 F 4863) belonging to one Nilesh Jariwala was stolen from the parking lot of his house located at Vihar Society at Singanpore Road on Tuesday night, the police said. Cases have been registered at the Salabatpura and Katargam police stations and are being investigated.

Trucks stolen
VADODARA
: ONE Naginbhai Patel, a resident of Dashrath village, complained to the Chhani police that four of his employees had stolen his trucks loaded with tobacco worth Rs 1.10 crore. The police said on Thursday that a case of cheating had been registered and the matter was being investigated.

Chain snatched
Two motorcycle-borne youths snatched a woman's gold necklace in busy area of J P Road, the police said. One D D Shah told the police that his mother had been to the market last week when two youths snatched the chain worth Rs 9,000. The police have registered a case and are investigating.

Vehicles stolen
An Ambassador car (GUV-7484) was reported to have been lifted from Kamatibaug, the police said on Thursday. The report had been lodged by one Govindbhai Rabbari, a resident of Ramnagar, Ajwa road. According to another information, a Tata Seira car (GJ-17-C-1313) and a moped (GJ-6-HH-1350) were lifted from different parts of the city, the police said.

PASA case
The city police has arrested one bootlegger Chandrakant alias Lalji, a resident of Navi Dharati under Prevention of Anti-social Activities (PASA) Act and sent him to Bhuj jail, an official release said here on Sunday.
