Gandhi had on Tuesday alleged that union leader Prakash Verma and former UGS Kiran Raj had misbehaved with her when she asked them to stand in queue for application forms. Gandhi had alleged that the two broke the queue and demanded forms out of turn. When she refused they hurled abuses at her.

Even as the 150-odd non-teaching staff of the M S University held a demonstration in front of the University Office on Wednesday to protest the alleged misbehaviour, Vice-Chancellor Padma Ramchandran issued a show-cause notice to Verma and Raj warning them not to repeat their action.

Verma, however, denied the allegations and submitted a memorandum to the VC. He said the clerk had refused to answer students' queries and hence he was forced to take up the matter with her.

Meanwhile, the members have decided to gherao Syndicate members on Saturday to press for their demand to take action against the two.

Shah has alleged that there had been several cases in the past when students had misbehaved with the staff and the university authorities, too, had failed to take action against the accused.

Members of the non-teaching staff also observed that Verma was a student of the university, but Kiran Raj had no right to act in such a manner as he was no longer a student of the university.
