CHANDIGARH, May 31: DAV Club and Valley Club bagged titles in the junior boys and girls category in the sixth Chandigarh state junior and sub-junior softball championship which concluded at DAV College, Sector 10 ground here today. DAV Club beat Valley Club 3-1 while Valley Club defeated Unique Club 4-1 to emerge victorious.For DAV Club Nimit scored 2 goals while Vishal got one. Ashutosh got the lone goal for Valley Club.
In a one-sided girls final, Sangita and Neha got two goals each for the winners. Naini got one for losers.
Valley Club also won the sub-junior girls and boys titles. In the girls group they defeated Unique Club 7-6 in a nail biting encounter. Lalita and Ruchi, who got two goals each in the first inning mainly contributed to the teams victory in the match today.
Ruchi (1), Indu (1) and Renu (1) were other goal getters for the team. For Unique Club Naini, Anuradha and Parul got two points each.
In the sub-junior section Valley Club blanked Bhavan Vidyalaya 5-0. Dalbir and Ajay got two goals each while Navdeep scored one.
Weekend skating
Jaineer and Zoya won the 100 metres reace in the boys and girls category in the weekend skating held at Sector 10 Skating Rink.
Results: Boys: Under 6 yrs: 100 m: 1 Jaineer, 2 Arhan Kohli, 3 Shuban Thakur. 6 to 8 yrs: 250 m: 1 Bikram, 2 Tushar, 3 Saurabh Gupta.
6 to 9 yrs: 500 m: 1 Anant Puri, 2 Sidharth, 3 Gurmohit. 8 to 10 yrs: 600 m: 1 Aditya, 2 Saurabh, 3 Parampreet.
Girls: Under 6 yrs: 1 Zoya, 2 Pallavi, 3 Shradha. 6 to 8 yrs: 250 m: 1 Gurneen, 2 Ayushi, 3 Eshita. 8 to 10 yrs: 600 m: 1 Noor Kohli, 2 Harneet, 3 Inderpreet.
