Arbitrary hike in UT petrol prices

CHANDIGARH, June 1: Many petrol pumps in the city arbitrarily hiked the rates of petrol after the announcement of imposition of cess on it in the Union Budget. A random survey revealed that many petrol pumps hiked the rates immediately. Sources said that petrol pumps are supposed to sell old stocks of petrol at pre-hike prices as such practices gave rise to "black-marketing".
