Man threatens to burn wife alive, arrested

 
BANGALORE, May 31: A 30-year-old man who allegedly tortured his wife for dowry and threatened to burn her alive just ten days after their marraige has been arrested by Yeshwanthpur police. The arrest was made following a complaint by Rekha (27), who holds a master's degree in science and Business Administration, that her husband Ramakrishna was torturing her to bring Rs 3 lakhs, though her parents had given enought dowry at the time of marriage which took place on May 10, 1998.In an another incident, a youth was killed on the spot when he fell to the ground after being hit by a speeding cycle on the 50 Feet Road in Muneshwara Block around 3 pm on Saturday. Police said the deceased Sathyavelu (25) was fully drunk and died immediately after falling down.
