2 injured in road mishap Two persons were injured, one of them seriously, in separate cases of road accidents on Wednesday, the police said. One Chhaganbhai Manabhai, a driver of a chhakda was injured, when his vehicle (GJ 5 V 4082) was hit by a truck (GJ 3 V 9798), driven by Jaman Natha. The driver of the truck then lost control of his vehicle and rammed his vehicle into a police mobile van (GJ 5 G 384). The Kapodara police have taken Natha into custody and the truck has been confiscated. In another case, one A V G Venkateshwar, residing at Essar township, was injured when a car (GJ 5 L 7902) hit his vehicle. Cases have been registered at the Ichhapore and Kapodara police stations on Wednesday and are being investigated.Brawls Three people were injured and were admitted to the hospital in separate cases of brawls registered in the city police stations on Wednesday. One Dharmabhai Nanor, residing at Jalaramnagar slum near Rander, told the police that he was assaulted with an axe by one Ashokbhai Marathe, also residing in the same slum, after an argument. In another case registered at the same police station, Umashankar Sahney of the Minanagar slum told the police that five unidentified youths beat him up on Tuesday night near the Swaminarayan Mandir in the area and stabbed him before escaping. The complainant told the police that the attack was in retaliation to an argument which he had with one Ramesh last week. In a third case registered at the Katargam police station, an autorickshaw driver was beaten up by two youths when his vehicle hit their motorcycle near Sayan Road. The police have registered cases and are investigating. Theft A music system, battery, cassettes and other goods kept inside a car were stolen from a Maruti van parked at Khand Kuva Main road in Begumpura on Tuesday night, the police said.
