SURAT, June 3: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad on Wednesday claimed that the State government has decided to continue the practice of allowing students -- not satisfied with their annual marks -- to go through their answerscripts.According to a practice introduced by the Bharatiya Janata Party, when Nalin Bhatt was the education minister, students could seek reassessment after payment of Rs 200 per paper. However, the same party decided to revoke the decision when it came to power early this year.
A delegation of Parishad members called on education minister Anandiben Patel and requested her to continue the practice. It allowed students to determine whether they were wronged during paper checking, they claimed. The government had revoked the decision after finding that it was fraught with lacunae. The parishad countered this saying the government should remove the lacunae, while continuing the practice.
