HC rules out probe into encounter

MUMBAI, June 23: The Bombay High Court today ruled against a possible probe into the case of gangsters Lahoo Angare and Vikas Waghmare who allegedly died in a police encounter in March last year.In response to the petitions filed by Priya Lahoo Angare and Vandana Vikas Waghmare, widows of the deceased, urging the high court to order a CID or CBI investigation into the `fake' encounter, Justices N Armugham and P S Patankar held that mere suspicion is not ground enough for a probe.
