Sasikala to sue Karunanidhi for defamation

CHENNAI, June 25: ``It is condemnable that Chief Minister M Karunanidhi who has to answer the Opposition's charges of desilting the Cauvery delta, is dragging my name with an ulterior motive,'' said N Sasikala, aide of AIADMK supremo J Jayalalitha announcing her intention to file a defamation suit against him.In a statement on Wednesday, Sasikala said the Chief Minister, by presenting information that was ``contrary to the truth'', had unnecessarily attempted to mar the reputation of her relatives and herself. Terming the Chief Minister's statement that Sasikala's relatives had taken up the contract of desilting the Cauvery ``an utter lie'', she claimed that neither her relatives nor she had signed any contract for the purpose, adding that the Chief Minister was ``criticising me and my relatives intentionally''.
