Medha Patkar demands white paper on N-tests

PUNE, JUNE 26: Lambasting the BJP government for misleading the people and whipping up a frenzy of psuedo-nationalism, Narmada Bachao Andolan leader Medha Patkar today demanded that the government should present a white paper on the five nuclear tests conducted at Pokharan on May 11 and 13 explaining why they had to resort to this extreme step.Speaking to mediapersons here today, Patkar, also leader of the National Alliance of People's Movements, appeared unconvinced by the reasons offered by the government for resorting to these tests. ``India has betrayed the trust of the people the world over.
