Man climbs atop DVB tower, leaves W. Delhi in the dark

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, June 28: A 18-year-old man, Kamal, climbed up a 30-metre high DVB tower in Punjabi Bagh around 7.30 last night, leading to a blackout in many areas of west Delhi. According to DVB officials, they had to switch off the supply in the area because the man could have been electrocuted.

Localities of West Delhi, including Rajouri Garden, Raja Garden, Ramesh Nagar, Kirti Nagar and Bali Nagar were affected. Fire brigade officials said they got a call about 7.45 pm. After all attempts to persuade the man failed, the fire brigade personnel climbed the tower and brought the man down around 10.30 pm.

The police arrested the man and are interrogating him. They claim that the man might be mentally unstable.
