PM to inaugurate journalists meet

NEW DELHI, June 28: Prime Minister A.B. Vajapayee will inaugurate the 11th biennial conference of the National Union of Journalists' (India) on July 12 at Mandi Gobindgarh, Ludhiana.The conference will be held from July 11 to July 14 and discuss evolving a national strategy to combat the contract system of employment, erosion in the status of editor and other journalists, delay in the implementation of the Wage Board Award, decline in journalistic values due to consumerism, among other issues.
