Electrocuted
Rameshbhai, a 30-year-old electrician, died on the spot after he received an electric current while working near a canal at Katargam GIDC on Monday morning, the police said. Rameshbhai was immediately shifted to the Maskati hospital of the city, where doctors declared him dead on admission, the police added. The police have registered a case under CrPC 174 and are investigating.

Temple theft
One of two accused, who tried to steal valuables from the famous Motu Mandir at Chauta Pool Market on Sunday night was arrested, the Athwa Lines police said, adding that the other managed to escape. According to the police, the residents of the place caught Dineshkumar Manharlal, a resident of Gopipura area, as he and another unidentified person were trying to break open the grills of the temple. Manharlal was later handed over to the police, who have registered a case under IPC 454, 511 and 114 and are on the lookout for the other accused. No valuables were stolen, the police said.

Scooter stolen
One Mohammed Siddique Abdul Rehman, a resident of Sagrampura area of the city, complained to the Athwa Lines that his scooter (GJ 5 NN 376), parked opposite his house located at 2/3159 Sagrampura was stolen by unidentified people on Sunday night. The police have registered a case under IPC 379 and are investigating.

Brawl
One person was injured and required medication after an argument between his neighbours turned violent, a case registered in the Katargam police station on Monday said. Jagdevbhai Yadav, a resident of Katargam, told the police that when he tried to intervene in an argument between his neighbours, Manojbhai, Vrijeshbhai and another unidentified person beat him up and Manojbhai later injured him with a sharp-edged weapon. The Katargam police have registered a case and are investigating.
