Gurpreet Singh slams century
An unbeaten 103 by Gurpreet Singh enabled Suiper c.c beat Kotla c.c by 22 runs and enter the final of the first Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Cricket Tournament at the Andrews Ganj Govt School.

Super c.c will now meet Madras Coaching Centre in the final on Saturday at 8 a.m.

Super c.c: 195 for 7 in 35 overs (Gupreet Singh 103 n.o, Simar 36 n.o, Anil Choudhry 4 for 33, Naresh Choudhry 4 for 37). Kotla c.c: 173 in 31 overs (Anil Choudhry 53, Yogesh 37, Rajeev Joshi 5 for 43).

Naresh qualifies
Naresh Kumar Sharma, a disabled shooter from India, has qualfied for Paralympics in 2000 at Sydney. He achieved the qualifying mark at the recently concluded world championship for disabled in Spain.

Korfball team
A 16-member Indian team will take part in the Asia-Africa Korfball Championships to be held in Durban from July 5 to 11, 1998. South Africa and Chinese Taipai are the other teams participating the championships to be played on league basis. The team: Men: Amit Chhabra, Amit Kulshrestha, Gourab Singh (all UP), Ajay Singh (MP), Ram Pal (haryana), Rajesh Saini (Rajasthan) and Arif Mumtaj Ahmed (Mah). Women: Aparna Singh, Reena Singh, Renu Kulshrestha, and Mahima Gupta (all UP);Saraswati Gujar (Raj) and Rajni Sahota (Pb). Manager: Mrs Mala Gupta. Coach: Ashok Kumar.

DDA hockey
New Star thrashed MBS xi 14-0 in the DDA Invitation Hokey Championship at the Shivaji Stadium. In the other matches, FCI (North Zone) beat Richi xi 9-1 and FCI (Hq) beat DDA xi 3-1.

Central Bank win
Central Bank of India defeated NDMC by five wickets in the Wonders Trophy, organised by Delhi Eaglets. NDMC were dismissed for 110 in 31 overs, Tek Chand claiming three wickets for 20 runs. The bankmen replied with 112 for five in 27 overs. Former Delhi Ranji batsman Bantoo Singh made 34.

Brief Scores: NDMC: 110 all out in 31 overs (Sudhir Sidhu 35, Tek Chand 3 for 20, Kamal Kumar 2 for 15) Central Bank of India: 112 for 5 in 27 overs (Bantoo Singh 34, B S Rawat 24 not out, Ranbir Singh 20).
