According to the police, Gopal and Ved Pal were working in their fields when a group of villagers attacked them with iron rods, swords and clubs. They were beaten senseless and left for dead. The assailants fled the scene after the attack. Both the victims were rushed to Hodal Hospital. Gopal, who was later shifted to B.K. Hospital, succumbed to his injuries.

Three of the accused have been identified as Hari Chand, Digamber, Bhagat Singh. No arrests have been made as yet.

Girl dies in road accident
10-year-old girl died on the Gurgaon-Delhi road around 11 a.m. on Friday when a truck hit the two-wheeler she was travelling in. Her father, S. Kaushal, was driving the vehicle.

In his statement to the Mehrauli police, Kaushal said that he was bringing his daughter Babita back from Kishangarh to his Durga Vihar house in the Capital when the truck hit them from behind. Babita was taken to AIIMS, where she was declared dead. Her father has suffered injuries on his legs and is in hospital. The Mehrauli police have arrested the truck driver, Shish Ram.

22-yr-old shot /B>
22-year-old Nasir Khan was shot at on Thursday night in the Bhajan Pura area of north-east Delhi. The victim was reportedly shot at by four of his own gang members. He was rushed to the GTB Hospital. A country-made pistol was recovered from him. The police are on the lookout for the other gang members.
