Man's life is full of incidents and they are normally forgotten in a course of time. But there is a horrible incident lying in a corner of my mind which I will never forget. On a Saturday afternoon, I was on my way home from tuition. Suddenly I heard a loud noise of the brake and a scream which was of a woman. To my horror I saw that a woman on a scooter was knocked by a truck. In an ample of seconds there was a huge crowd of onlookers and passers-by.
All were discussing and inquiring, but nobody cared to take the injured woman to the hospital.
I sought courage and firmly said ``Instead of discussing and wasting time please take the injured woman to the hospital.''
A young man was much impressed by my suggestion and took her in an autorickshaw to Sasoon where she was admitted in an emergency ward.
Meanwhile I decided to phone the victim's family, and inform them about the accident with the help of the visiting card which was found in her purse. After that I returned home.
It is said that `curiosity is one of the noblest instincts of man' and the same had brought me back to the hospital to see the condition of the patient on the third day.
There was pleasure on everyone's face. I was introduced to everyone as the one who had phoned the victim's family and helped in rushing her to the hospital.
All thanked me, but I thanked god from the bottom of my heart as he had saved a life of a person, whose service was essential for the nation. The injured woman was a doctor.
