Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee yesterday described as "wrong" the move to remove churches in the Capital from the list of religious places and assured Parliament that the Centre would seek a report on the matter from the Delhi Government. Outside Parliament too, the Bharatiya Janata Party sought to cool down the controversy created by Delhi Government's proposal and said that the plan would be shelved.

Pawar refused to endorse the view that Deshmukh was being punished by the party high command for the RS poll fiasco.
