Chennai, July 5: Just when he seemed to have the measure of his opponent, second seed Arup Baidya slackened his grip and let the fourth seed Chetan Anand off the hook in the junior boys singles semifinals of the Krishna Khaitan Memorial Grand Prix junior badminton tournament at the Indoor Stadium on Sunday.Chetan rode his way to a 15-12, 15-1 win, almost making a mockery of Baidya's challenge in the second. Call it a momentary lapse of concentration or the little audacity which went with that 7-0 lead in the first game. Baidya was not the same player once Chetan caught him at 11. Not much separated the two at that juncture but Chetan's confidence was clearly on a high if his movements were any indication.
