Thakre against Art 356
Bharatiya Janata Party president Kushabhau Thakre yesterday said that his party was against the misuse of Article 356. Thakre also told reporters that though the law and order situation in Bihar, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal was "grave", these governments could not be sacked merely on that ground.

Ghani Khan is Bengal Cong chief
Former Union minister and veteran Congress leader A B A Ghani Khan Choudhury has been appointed West Bengal Pradesh Congress president by party president Sonia Gandhi who has also inducted former MP Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi as working president of the state unit weakened by the split which gave birth to Trinmool Congress. Choudhury and Dasmunshi had been PCC presidents of the state in different times in the past.
