VADODARA, July 8: The Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) on Wednesday restored power supply to the Indian Oil Corporation's (IOC) Kandla-Bhatinda pipeline. An official spokesman said the supply was restored by laying high pressure cables. He stated the Board had to lay high pressure cables as the Kandla Port area was still water-logged. With the restoration of power supply, production of petroleum products will no longer be affected, he added.
He said the restoration, which was affected due to heavy rains recently, had again gained momentum. Equipment along with necessary staff for restoration and vehicles have been sent in different areas which were affected by the cyclone last month. More than 24,000 electricity poles have been dispatched to Kutch district and 40,000 poles are being sent to Jamnagar district. According to him, the stock includes 6,000 poles from Rajasthan and 10,000 procured from Madhya Pradesh.
