1 dead in food poisoning

A 13-year-old boy died of food poisoning after consuming vada pav at Kalika Sweet Mart, Saki Naka, Andheri on Monday afternoon. Four others have been admitted to J P Hospital and Abhay Nursing home at Andheri.

The deceased Imam Sheikh Maqdoom Sheikh and his friends Sanjay Mudrale (23), Sanju Samel (27), Munna (26) and Anil Gayakwad (25) visited the sweet mart at around 3 pm to have vada pav. At about 6.30 pm, they felt uneasy and started vomiting, after which Imam succumbed.

The five were employed with a cold drinks' store at Tunga village.

CR services disrupted

A unit defect in an Andheri train headed towards Chhatrapti Shivaji Terminus (CST) on the Central Railway led to the disruption of rail services between Bandra and Andheri for an hour from 8.30 am, causing trains to run 10-15 minutes behind schedule, said railway sources.
