Bankrupt youth embraces death

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
PUNE, July 13: A youth preparing for the examination of Chartered Accountancy (CA) ended his life yesterday allegedly because he had gone bankrupt due to alcoholism and addiction to lottery.

Twentynine-year-old Vishwas K More set himself ablaze while he was all by himself at his residence at Bahirat Chawl in Shahu Colony in Karvenagar around 3.30 pm. He was rescued and moved to the Sassoon Hospital by neighbours. However, he succumbed to the high-degree burns before reaching the hospital, police said.

According to the police, Vishwas, who worked with a Pirangut based private company, had married a year back. His wife had gone to meet some relatives in the nearby Shantinagar area when the incident took place. An alcoholic Vishwas, police said, was addicted to lottery for the last many years.
