Royal death
Maharani Krishna Kumari, 72, of the erstwhile Jambughoda State in Panchmahals district passed away on Friday in Vadodara after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband Maharaja Digvijaysinh, son Vikramsinh and daughter Sohini Kunver.

Rainfall
The city received 17.3 mm rainfall, while rural pockets of Vadodara taluka recorded 14.2 mm rainfall in less than an hour around 4 pm on Monday. While Karjan recorded 7 mm rainfall, Jetpurpavi received 5 mm, Padra, 1 mm, Sankheda, 4 mm, Chhotaudepur, Dabhoi, Naswadi, Padra, Waghodia, Savli, Sinnor, Sankheda and Kwant talukas did not receive any rains.

Lecture on WWW
Professor Craig Kissock, Head of Education, University of Minnesota, USA, will, on Tuesday, deliver a lecture on `World Wide Web in Education: Opportunities and Issues' at CASE Seminar Room, Faculty of Education and Psychology, M S University, at 11 am. The lecture marks the first programme being held by the Faculty of Education in the varsity's Golden Jubilee year.

BDMA lecture
President of the Phenomerfon Consultants Inc Murli Menon will deliver a lecture on `Neuro Liguistic Programming: Multiplying the Mind Power' at the Gujarat Narmada Fertiliser Corporation corporate building auditorium in Bharuch on Tuesday, at 8 pm, according to Bharuch District Management Association president J K Shah.

Power theft
The Gujarat Electricity Board detected power theft of Rs 58 lakh in the last week of June. According to a release, out of the 4,211 industrial, agricultural and domestic connections checked in different parts of the state, irregularities were detected in 420 cases. The defaulters have been served bills, including fine.
