Assaulted
The Sayajigunj police arrested a youth for assaulting a woman and her husband in their house in Sharad Apartment on Monday. According to the police, Sujit Jivan Krishna, residing at Lohana Boarding, made indecent overtures to Vijay Shah's wife. Shah objected to his behaviour and asked him to mend his ways. Angered by his objection, Krishna barged into Shah's house and assaulted his wife with a knife. He was, however, overpowered by Shah, and handed over to the police.Case registered
Chandrikaben Manoj Kumar Sharma, a resident of Jai Ambe Nagar on Waghodia Road, complained to the police that a suspended constable Nagin Zaveri misbehaved and passed lewd remarks on her. While she went out for walk on Sunday evening. The Panigate police station have registered a case and are investigating. Arrested
The Karelibaug police on Monday arrested one Deepak Verma allegedly involved in a number of house-breaking cases in the city. The police said that the accused was arrested by a night patrol party in Sardar Bhawan. During interrogations, he admitted having burgled a medical store in Salatwada, the police said.
