The great rip-off: Youths loot thief

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
SHIMOGA, July 14: Perhaps whatever you do does come back to you. In any case, the adage came true for one Prakash in Shimoga, currently in jail for robbing a jewellery shop in Goa: On Friday night, a three-member gang allegedly robbed his wife.

According to the complaint lodged by Usha -- Prakash's wife -- three youths came to her house in a car and asked her to give Rs 1 lakh as ransom to release her father, who they claimed, was in their custody. The youths also asked her to give the ornaments robbed by Prakash. The police say that though Prakash robbed ornaments worth Rs 80 lakh, they could recover only jewellery worth Rs 27 lakh.
